Next in fashion!
Hospitality, tourism, medical technology…these have been the industries in which I have built my career so far. But now I want a change! My next career will be in fashion.
I definitely cannot support myself as a freelancer and that is why I have always had to work. After many years of working in positions that for me were more a form of necessary sustenance than pleasure, I decided it was time to change and find a job related to fashion. You may be wondering why I didn’t do this sooner. I don’t know, I think I’ve always preferred to separate the two so that I don’t get sick of fashion, design and creation by working for someone else, another brand. I was afraid that I would lose touch with fashion as something I like to do voluntarily and not as a necessity. But now I understood that it would be better to combine it in the end. It will give me new experiences that I can then use for myself and my business.
Apparently, I don’t have the experience and skills to be employed as a fashion designer. I’m not the worst adept, but I’m not the best either. I still have to wait for such positions. I did try, but without success. I even learned how to make illustrations, technical drawings in Adobe Illustrator to make more impact and to be able to do something new again. But I still have a lot to learn. I should start from the basics, basic positions, junior positions and such. But even there it will not be easy to convince that I am the right candidate. Maybe it will save me a little that I am really connected to fashion thanks to my own creation.
I realize that it won’t be easy, I have “no experience” in the field, everything I know is based on self-study, which I can’t prove. However, I will not give up and find a job in fashion. Even if I were to just sell clothes as a shop assistant. I will also improve my skills in my free time, take courses, learn new skills. I will increase my qualifications, gain new experience and believe that success will come.
